Just Riding Along Cycles

JRA Cycles is one of the premier off-road cycling shops in New England. We specialize in high-end boutique brands that are individually selected for the trails of New England. We also stock a wide array of bikes for commuting and recreational use. Our shop provides unmatched in-house services such as suspension work, custom wheel builds, and over 70 years of combined experience. JRA staff prides itself on providing bikes for riders of all skill levels and have a strong involvement in the local community.

Position: Sales Associate

What will you do?

You will represent and serve the Greater Boston area’s premier off-road cycling shop. 

You will contribute to the success of JRA by processing purchase transactions, providing education for all things represented in store, and being a liaison between customers and service staff.

You will be supported in your growth as both a rider and individual, made a part of a team that supports one another, and be allowed to grow and develop in your role. Interested? Here is the list of required duties.

  • Provide customers with product, and service information while maintaining a working knowledge of products and services we provide.

  • Effectively help to prepare the store: maintain and stock work areas making sure all items are accurately priced and displayed.

  • Perform unique transactions such as special orders, returns, work orders, backorders, and store mail-outs.

  • Promote the sale of goods as well as engaging in community outreach and advocacy

  • Process purchase, service, and return transactions at the register in alignment with JRA Cycles policies. Collect payment for goods, make changes, and distribute receipts.

  • Identify, research, and resolve customer issues.

  • Support Retail Store pick-up by assisting with the receipt of product from shippers and processing customer pick-up.

  • Maintain customer product layaway area by keeping the area organized and removing items that are beyond the hold dates.

  • Support customers by responding to product, service questions, general inquiries, and customer feedback.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Previous retail store experience (preferred).

  • Utilize resources and collective knowledge to provide thorough and well thought out responses.

  • Availability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including Saturdays.

  • Must be able to lift boxes greater than 45Ibs and be able to stand for hours at a time

  • Act upon opportunities and involve and influence others in the accomplishment of worthwhile organizational goals.

  • A willingness to learn and use feedback as a catalyst for growth.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Build rapport with all kinds of people inside and outside the organization.

  • Knowledge of cycling-related activities (preferred).

  • Actively participate and collaborate with others for the sake of the bigger picture.

  • Work smart by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and planning well in order to produce quality work.

  • Execute effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals

Salary and Benefits:

  • $13.50- $18.00 Hourly (3, 6, 12 month reviews offer opportunity for pay increase)
